Up for auction are these 2 lovely Godey's Fashion - I simply love these but the husband says I must downsize, and no more "keepers" for me.
I was not familiar with this technique, but research has shown that these are beautiful prints that were hand painted and then have the small embroidered accents added to them. They are both stamped Godey's Fashins 1863.
The one with the lady in the blue gown has the flowers surrounding her, and in the trees embroy. as well as a flower in her hair. The one with the lady in the pink dress also has flowers embroy. all around her, as well as in her hair. The colors are very bright - does not look like they have been exposed to light, etc.
The frames are 8 x 10, are a gold with a red showing through. Very chic - would look wonderful in any elegant setting, Victorian home, cottage, etc. They are simply wonderful - bid with confidence - I do not believe you will be disappointed in these.
