Crystalcal R Casting & Moulding Powder is a 100% Alpha Plaster. This means it is the hardest and most durable plaster that we stock. It is even harder than Herculite 2 and is very close to dental plaster in strength. It will cope with lost wax casting without any problem. It has a set time of between 10-25 mins depending on your water temperature, ambient temperature and age of the material.
If your current suppliers Crystacal is setting faster than 10 minutes then its really really old! The older the plaster the quicker it will try to set. This is a premium plaster and will reproduce very fine detail. It is similar setting material in time compared to Herculite 2 or Plaster of Paris. We NEVER supply plaster thats older than 4 months.

The shelf life of this product to perform to exact specification is around 4 months, though keep it dry and in a plastic bag and it will last.
