19thC Victorian Lady Gardening Bronze Sculpture Figure

This is a fabulous late 19th Century dark patinated bronze sculpture depicting a lady in a garden, with a rake and watering can, dating circa 1880 - 1890.

This is a beautifully detailed late 19th Century bronze sculpture. The bronze has a dark almost ebonised patination. The figure stands on a rectangular organic base. She stands, with her hands clasped, wearing petite little shoes with bows, a long dress and pinafore, with a straw hat, holding a rake.

She stands beside a column decorated with a garland of flowers and fruit, upon which sits a watering can. This is a delightful bronze, dating circa 1880 - 1900.

The bronze has a beautiful, very dark, almost ebonised patina. The bronze is in good condition, the base being a little uneven, with the column being a little loose, but other than this the piece is in good condition for its age. The bronze stands on a base measuring a width of 4.25 inches (10.7cm), a depth of 2.75 inches (7cm) and stands a maximum height of 7.5 inches (19cm).
