This is a wonderful Antique 19thC Pennsylvania C1880 Pillow Case or Cover that I have had in my collection for a long time. It measures 22" long x 15 1/2" wide.. The fabric is blue calico cotton that includes two prints, one with small white stars and the other white dots. The white fabric is white cotton muslin. The whole pillow cover is completely hand stitched and hand pieced, and is open at one end to allow the insertion of a pillow. Two pearl shell buttons with hand stitched buttonholes fasten the end closed. The white cotton muslin as would be expected has tan aging to the fabric on all eight of the stars. The eight pointed star blocks measure about 4 1/4" to 4 1/2" with the one piece blocks about the same. There are no holes, rips, tears, and all is in excellent condition. The print backing is also a great fabric in great colors as well.
