19thC Antique Carved Walnut Cream Throne Armchair Chair

Description:
This is a beautiful quality, original antique carved walnut armchair, of very nice quality, having a cream painted ground with a red primer base.  The chair stands on very nice hairy hoof design feet having cabriole legs over carved with swags, shells and scroll work, united by a serpentine front rail with scallop shell decoration to the front with "S" scrolls to the edges having a lovely cream ground with a deep moulding over, having shaped side rails and matched plain cabriole legs to the rear again with lovely hairy hoofed feet.  Rising above is the cushion seat, with very decorative scrolled arms and beautiful deep carvings to the hand-rests, again worn beautifully with time showing the lovely rich walnut colour.  There are acanthus leaf decorations where the arms meet the stiles at the back, having a classic arched crest rail with a moulded edge.  The chair is upholstered in a lovely burnt orange velvet.  A lovely quality genuine antique chair, very comfortable to sit in, being full of character, with the original paint work worn beautifully and patinated revealing the rich walnut below.

The chair dates circa 1800 - 1900.

Condition:
The chair has minor wear consistent with age and authenticity, but firm of joint and ready to use.
