You are bidding on a wonderful 19th century sardine dish in a cobalt blue glaze with green leaves and a sardine finial on the top of the lid in the style of George Jones. My feeling is that this is not by George Jones but the serious collectors will know. The colours are bright. It is unmarked. The item consists of 2 pieces - the lid and the combined dish and undersaucer. Size roughly 6.1/2ins square standing approx 5 ins high including the sardine finial. Condition is very Good - there is crazing due to the piece's age and a couple of minute firing cracks on the inner lip where the lid sits - very minor but mentioned for good order. Postage would be by Royal Mail next day special delivery. Local buyers are very welcome to collect - we are 10 mins from M1 junction 31 and the Meadowhall shopping centre. I will despatch to USA, Canada, Australia and the EU for £15 but payment because of greedy bankers must be by Paypal if buying from overseas |
