19th. CENTURY COPPER ROYAL NAVY RUM/GROG MEASURE

This is a ONE & A HALF GILLS copper measure, inscribed in Italic Script, typical of 19th. Century engravings, and not the block capitals used in the later 20th. Century items.

It's in very good condition, and still retains its internal tinning.  It would make a good addition to anybody's collection of a full set of sizes in these measures.

The size of this measure is 2.5ins. (65cms.) high.

A: Hi,These measures were a standard pattern on R.N ships ,19c as per my listing,they used to be common here(Portsmouth)"Home of the Royal Navy",but now are harder to find.Hope this helps.
