19th C FRENCH MELLOW VERDURE TAPESTRY CUSHION PILLOW
A cushion with an aura of 'faded grandeur!' is presented, made from late 19th century French machine woven verdure tapestry rescued from a large but damaged hanging. The lush foliage of a tree woven in soft neutral tones, with a hint of soft ochre now faded and aged to 'perfection' on a soft natural ground is the focal point.......perfect if you adore château style! We have trimmed the cushion with a fabulous vintage 'looped' passementerie made from cotton, silk and chenille in shades that compliment this textile to perfection, it's a very dense and superb quality trim - we only use antique or vintage trims to embellish our cushions - never repro - as our personal feeling is that older textiles deserve older trims to compliment them. The main body of the cushion is vintage plush cotton velvet in a shade of 'old gold'....this has a higher pile and a more bristly texture than the shorter pile and softer cotton velvets (it's a beautiful, dense, colour....no patchy areas, that's just light reflection bouncing off the pile). A cushion with the essence of 'divine decadence' that will work in most room settings including antique, vintage, country, period and of course 'faded grandeur!' A beautiful display and decorative accessory created entirely from old textiles that will add character and beauty to your home. CONDITION REPORT: Very good / excellent for age with no holes, tears, clean and with no odours. APPROXIMATE MEASUREMENTS: 16 1/2 inches wide x 16 inches deep with a top quality waxed cambric feather and down inner. Waxed cambric is a strong casing that contains the down and feather and prevents the feathers escaping. Air mail shipping to Europe £6.50 with delivery from 3 - 4 working days. Surface Mail shipping (Worldwide) £6.25 with delivery expected in approximately 8 weeks. For shipping costs to other countries, please email for information. The above shipping costs include insurance up to £36.00 GBP in the event of loss or damage only...it does not include the refund of shipping fees. A higher level of insurance can be purchased if required. Please Note: We have a 99.9% record of successful deliveries both within the U.K and overseas.
