An easel or book stand, with the original nineteenth century retailer's sticker still on the back from a spa in the Black Forest, Germany. The label is in French and reads in part "Chr. Stuffer & Bimden, Manufacturers of Fine Sculptures, Baden-Baden, Shipping to All Countries". The easel measures 11.75" high, and 6.25" wide. I think it is missing the very tip of point at the center top, about a third of an inch of one of the pieces that stick out on the left side, and there is a small chip on the right corner of the wood ledge or shelf.
