19c TURKISH TUGRA EMBROIDERY SILK GOLD METALLIC OTTOMAN

Offered for auction is an fine Turkish tugra embroidered panel very well worked by hand all in gold metallic threads on brick red applique shapes & a fine cream silk ground c1900.

The design shows arabic lettering, moon & other symbols and stylised flora. There are a few creases where the panel has been pressed against the glass otherwise no fading, missing stitches, holes, thinning or rot. The reverse is shown in next to last picture, click on any image to supersize. This has been stored for decades and mounted more recently on stiff card with padding between. I have removed the modern frame/glass. The embroidered is well preserved and hasn't had much handling by the look of it. Generally this decorative piece is in excellent condition, may be of interest to collectors of Ottoman textiles.

Items are posted overseas Royal Mail small packet standard airmail OR 'signed for' service which costs £3.70 to insure up to £39 plus weight, higher value items will cost £5.75 to insure + the weight of the item. UK post is sent 1st class recorded insured up to £39 or 1st class standard. Royal Mail increases postage costs on a regular basis, obviously I have no control over these costs. Likewise I am not responsible for delayed delivery due to bad weather or strikes by postal workers, it happens from time to time ! I always obtain a receipt of posting and post asap after receipt of cleared payment. Our local post office has closed so now I have to drive to the PO, I post mainly on Tuesday & Fridays.
