1999 MERCEDES C220 CDI SPORT AUTO BLUE

 This is my 1999 C220 CDI Sport  estate, Chassis S202, engine code 611.960.

She is in average condition. I'm going to start with the bad bits and get them out of the way:

1. Injector No 3 is dripping and making a tapping/clicking noise. There is also black smoke coming from the exhaust when accelerating. This will need to be refurbished (£60) or replaced (£150).
2. There is a little play on the steering. I think it's a ball joing on the left suspension.
3. The alternater belt tenstioner needs to be replaced as it's vibrating.
4. The body is a bit tatty, as can be seen in the pictures. She has the usual bubbles and rust spots on the arches and boot lid. Appearantly common. She has also been resprayed on the bonnet and front left wing panel. Also lower passenger door panel has been resprayed.
5. On the inerior she is very good. There is a little were on the leather steering whel, small ciggarette burn on driver door, a little wear on driver seat and the mirror adjusting knob is missing.
6. AC needs recharge.

I'm trying to be as honest as possible and so I'm listing everything I can find. Don't be too put off though as she does have some good attributes.

She has had the following done to her in the last 4 months:

1. New headgasket set
2. Head skimmed
3. New injector seals and injector seats cleaned.
4. All valves cleaned and re-grindeded.
5. New oil filter
6. New fuel filter
7. New fuel pipes (all in engine compartment - not pipes from fuel tank)
8. New air mass sensor
9. New Water pump
10. New front off-side lower ball joint
11. New front near-side upper ball joint and arm

She has tax and MOT until end of Dec 09.

She drives very smooth and effortless. There is no lack of power or problems with the gearbox. As mentioned above there is a clicking noise coming from the injector but if you closed your ears you would not notice anything in her performance.

The interior is actually in good condition for it's year. I just cleaned her out and except for a couple of the above mention wear marks she cleans up very well.

So with a little bit of effort this could be a great run around car. She is very spacious and practical. She also comes with a boot cover and dog/luggage net.
