1999 Range Rover Vogue SE Special Edition Epsom Green
Welcome to this auction for my 1999 Range Rover Vogue SE in Epsom Green Metallic. I'm selling this gorgeous limited edition Rangie for my wife. You may not have heard of the 'Vogue SE' designation, but it was in fact the highest specification available in 1999. You'll also find that this car is in fact a 2000 model year with the uprated Bosch fuel injection system and engine management which aside from improving performance, also increased reliability and fuel consumption over previous models. Unfortunately the car is too big for her to drive - and with a replacement already having been purchased, I simply cannot justify owning 4 cars. (The Rangie usually sits next to another V8 in the form of my 1990 Mercedes S-Class.) This car is in fact the 3rd generation of Vogue SE factory specials. It stands out from the lower trim models with its body-coloured bumpers sills and door mirrors, a twin silver coachline below the side rubbing strip. The wheels are upgraded too being the 18" Hurricane sport alloys. Just forty examples were produced in the limited production run.
The specification on this car is wanting for nothing - simply phenomenal. This includes, but is not limited to;
- Dual zone climate control with air conditioning [Ice cold] - 11-Speaker Harman Kardon Premium Sound System w/ 6cd Multistack Changer in boot - Full Sandstone Leather interior with contrasting cream piping - Luxury fitted deep-pile carpeting throughout with genuine Range Rover heavy-duty mats (including boot) - Electric Windows - Electric Glass tilt/slide sunroof - Electric Heated wing mirrors - Electric Heated Power Memory driver and passenger seats - Multifunction steering wheel - Cruise control - Auto-dimming rearview mirror - 18" Hurricane sport alloys with Pirelli Scorpion tyres all round - 2000-spec lights - Light guards front and rear - Extra front driving lights [come on with full beam] - Wheel arch trim protectors [factory fitted, expensive and rare] - Towbar with full electrics - Twin rear exhausts - Adjustable air suspension with 4 ride-height settings
As you can see, the first owner looks to have gotten carried away while ticking the options boxes on this car! Some options on this car are very rarely seen, due in part to the prohibitively expensive premiums Land Rover tend to charge for these factory bolt-on fittings when new!
This car drives just like a Range Rover should, and you absolutely feel king of the road. The commanding driving position gives you a fantastic view all around, and you look down upon lesser vehicles as you cruise past on your silky-smooth Air Suspension. The ride quality is fabulous and it really does give that 'magic carpet ride' feeling as bumps are just absorbed by your cushion of air. Having covered just 65,000 miles from new, the car still feels as tight as a nut. The mighty 4.6 litre V8 pulls incredibly well, and it accelerates at an indecent rate for a car of such grandeur. Of course, it makes all the right noises too - at idle, the V8 emits a heart-warming burble from the twin rear exhausts and when you really go for it and initiate a kick-down, the awesome acceleration is accompanied by a full-blown V8 roar. Although the engine does sound incredible, it's never intrusive and is always smooth and quiet when you are driving normally. However, wind down the window, put your foot down and see how quickly it puts a smile on your face.
Aside from this, the Range Rover is also unrivalled off-road. Land Rover's legendary four-wheel-drive system is helped along by a cutting edge four-wheel traction control system and a suspension system that can be raised at the touch of a button.
No expense has been spared with this vehicle, and this is reflected in the condition of the car. In the past seven months, the following work has been carried out;
- 2 Radius Arm Bushes - Steering Damper - Centre Silencer [Genuine Land Rover] - Offside and Nearside Rear Silencers [Genuine Land Rover] - Wheel Balancing - New Throttle Cable - New windscreen wiper motor and mechanism
Costs: £1200+, reciepts to show.
The car is fully HPI clear and has never been involved in any accidents and milage shows genuine.
On the outside, you can see the car has been well looked after. There are of course the odd stone chip and blemish associated with a car of this age. However, these don't detract from the overall presentation of the car, which, in my opinion is stunning. The paintwork retains a brilliant shine and the panels are all straight and true.
On the inside, the interior trim is all in absolutely FIRST CLASS condition. The leather has been treated and polished throughout its life, the carpets are all still thick and unstained and it still has that 'new car' smell. The glass is all very clear and clean with no chips that I can detect.
Good Points: - Full 12 months MOT - Brilliant condition throughout - Genuine and HPI clear car
Bad Points: - Usual stone chips and minor scratches associated with a car of this age - The ride-height indicator lights are all on, although the air-suspension system works faultlessly and has been checked by a qualified Land Rover technician. He said that this fault can be cleared by a computer reset performed by a main dealer. This has never bothered me enough to take it in, but the new owner may feel it is worth it for a perfect car. - The central locking system can occasionally self lock but NOT unlock. I have been informed that this is due to radio interference, but have never bothered to investigate the matter. Again, inconsequential but worth mentioning.
This looks like a lengthy paragraph, but I have been totally honest in listing this. If you have any shadow of a doubt, check through my 100% feedback or contact me with any queries.
Bidders with feedback of less than 10 are to contact me before bidding or the bids WILL be removed. The car is advertised locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early if the car is sold.
I will require a £200 deposit via PayPal [non-negotiable] and cash on collection or a bankers draft ONLY.
Thanks for reading and good luck in bidding - you'll get a nice car!
