This is an auction for my spare Honda cb500, its been sitting in my garage since I completed some front end work on it so time for it to go, it'd make a great winter hack that's fun to ride when the roads dry out. As the pictures show its in reasonable condition for its age and the details are :

Good points : mot and tax until April 2010, new fork oil, new fork seals, fork legs very clean, new front pads (hh type), headraces checked and greased, new brake fluid, new rear disc, new clutch cable, as new Bridgestone 090's (ex race scrubs) mini indicators (that flash at a normal, not manic rate), alloy bars, DiD chain and decent sprockets. The plugs are ok, air filter is ok, carbs are balanced and bike does 55mpg on backroads. The radiator is in good condition as are the usually suspect mild steel downpipes. The endcan is the standard type with a few painted over scratches. Less good are the cosmetics - some scuffs on various parts of the paintwork, alloy footrests and single type footrest hangar on the left, dent in lower rh of tank (tank is sound), rear plastics not great, front mudguard same (its yellow too but that was all I could get), but there is a grabrail and some Honda tools. The picture does not show bar ends now fitted and proper mirrors.

I'm not keen to swap the bike for another
There are two spare keys, these all fit main lock, fuel cap and seat catch, as does the original
I've arranged to be around on Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday for viewers
I'd recommend viewing before you bid so you can hear the engine and see the cosmetics
Yes the bike runs cleanly and yes it has been used reguarly since I've had it
No I don't know any of the bikes history except it was used as an A road commuter for the last 4-5000 miles judging from the squared off tyres I replaced
No, I don't know if its been written off at any point, I bought it privately knowing it needed work on its forks and with cosmetic damage to plastics, mudguard and scuffs on casings, again, if you aren't sure come and see it
The tax runs out at end March
The steering locks to both right and left
The bike has been stored inside and is clean
There is a centrestand
The tyres were garage fitted and are balanced
