On offer is the excellent Peugeot 406 with a powerful 2.1L turbo diesel engine. After 5 years of ownership, I have fallen in love with this car and I am very reluctant to sell it.

The car is in excellent condition, with NO mechanical faults and, despite having covered 145,000 miles, drives as new, without any knocks and creaks. The engine starts first time, every time with no smoke or strange noises. It is very torquey and makes overtaking an absolute breeze. Gears select as they should with no "sticking" or grinding. It comes with MOT valid until end of October 2008 and taxed until the end of June. It has gone through the last MOT with flying colours, with only tyre changes required. There's a good amount of thread left. As it's my pride and joy, I service it regularly with the last service being two months ago. There's a full service history with it, with all items itemised since 74,000 miles.

During my ownership, the following major service items have been replaced:

90,000 miles - Radiator
100,000 miles - Exhaust box and mid section
113,000 mioles - Major service - cam belt/water pump/alternator belt, so it's good for another 40,000 miles
130,000 miles - Front brake pads and discs
144,000 miles - Drop links, suspension strut/spring

As I do a lot of motorway driving, I change the oil and filters every 6,000 miles with a full dealer service at MOT time.

OK, so here are the bad bits, because every car has them :-(

Drivers side rear door doesn't always unlock with central locking
There's no memory function on the drivers seat, but this is not a major issue if you're the only driver of the car
Drivers seat is slightly worn on the side
There's one ding on the bonnet from a supermarket trolley - see the picture below
Bumper has a scratch above the number plate, but has been resprayed - see the picture below
Rear bumper has a slight scruff near the exhaust pipe - again see the picture below
Very minor stone chips here and there
0.5cm stone chip on the windscreen, but this has been through 2 MOTs, so it's obviously not an issue
