1997 VW Golf GTI mk3 Anniversary 8v

Its with great regret I have to sell my beloved Golf which I have owned and pampered for the last 3 years. After looking at many cars I bought this one here on eBay and travelled a 400 mile round trip to bring it home.

The MK3 Golf 20th Anniversary was introduced in 1996 as a special edition version of the MK3 Golf, celebrating 20 years of Golf production. VW brought 750 Anniversary models into the UK.

These cars came with these extras as standard;

  • 16" alloy wheels
  • Red brake callipers
  • New front spoiler
  • Red pinstripe on bumpers
  • Chrome exhaust tailpipes
  • Sports seats with GTI logo
  • Alloy gearknob
  • Red seatbelts
  • Red detailing on steering wheel & handbrake
  • Silver dials
  • Sony CD player

As you can see my car is not your average mk3 GTI. Its gleaming metallic black, comes with a full service history and a new MOT. I have over £4000 in receipts for the modifications, servicing and maintenance professionally carried out, not including the cost of having a respray and the subtle bodywork changes I have had carried out by a friend, who has his own insurance approved bodyshop.

The list of modifications is as follows;

  • FK Smoked crystal rear lights
  • Milltek stainless steel exhaust
  • H&R lowered & uprated springs
  • Delocked door handles
  • Smoked indicators
  • Kenwood KDC W534UG face-off CD player
  • Glovebox mounted USB port
  • Pioneer bass box
  • JBL 200 watt amp

All quality parts professionally fitted. 

The car is totally delocked and the boot is opened via a solenoid switch when the rear wiper is operated, as the wiper itself has been removed.  Additional protection is courtesy of a Cobra Thatcham Cat. 1 total closure alarm (complete with certificate) which even closes the electric sunroof.

The excellent stereo system features a glovebox mounted USB port which enables you to listen to all your favourite music by plugging in a memory stick, saving the hassle and space of carrying loads of cd's. 

The engine has been left standard for reliability and serviced religiously using only genuine VW parts. The next service is not due until November. Its MOT'd till May 2009 and taxed till the end of June.

 Only top quality Meguiar's cleaning products have been used inside and out.

To sum it up this car is in excellent all round condition, needs no jobs doing and everything works as it should. There is no rust, dents or scratches and only a few light scuffs on the wheels. It can just be driven and enjoyed. As a VW enthusiast and Club GTI member I hope my treasured car goes to a good home after all the work and care I've put into it.
