The Volkswagen Golf is one of the motoring worlds all time legends, nobody ever seems to be able to match its build quality, driver appeal and downright desirability factor, most people at some time in their life have lusted after a Golf in some shape or form. Although it has grown in every new model since the mk1 version every one retains the original cars styling clues and each new model is unmistakably a Golf. Back in late 1991 the mk3 was introduced, this car had grown in size from the mk1 and was a true quality car that had an air of snob appeal to it, as per usual the excellent GTI models were introduced, although in this version the car was noted as being a tad softer than the earlier ones although it was every bit as capable in the handling an roadholding stakes. The build quality of these cars is simply bomb proof, look around and you will see many mid nineties cars on the road and still in pretty much rust free condition, the mechanicals will manage huge mileages with regular maintenance and the whole car seems to stay put together when many other have shook themselves to bits and ended up on the top of the pile at the local scrapyard! The mk3 Golf is a very practical car to own nowadays as there are minimal electronics to worry about and the mechanicals are pretty simple to work on, many people have got fed up with spending lots of money to keep their cars in normal working order, with an early Golf there is very little to go wrong ensuring you will not be constantly in debt with your local mechanic and that you will own a car with plenty of street cred for very little money that will last you for a very long time!
We are very pleased to offer this exceptionally clean and very original Volkswagen Golf GTI 2.0 8V 5 door, presented to you in gloss black with charcoal sports seats and trim, the car has had three previous owners and has covered just 111000 miles from new which is backed with a very good service history that consists of a stamped book and many bills and old mot's. The car has come to us as a part exchange from a main dealer and has therefore been hpi checked and is all clear of outstanding finance agreements and total loss accident damage of all categories. As we have mentioned this car is exceptionally original on the bodywork and trim with no signs of major damage, paintwork refinishing work or any boy racer add ons, there are a couple of tiny rust spots detailed below but none that have gone through the metal, or anything that couldn't be dealt with now for minimal cost, the interior is in super order and the car drives just how a well maintained VW should, so whoever wins this superb car will be buying a solid car with excellent mechanicals that should last them for many years to come, making this a very practical, potential classic that will not loose a fortune if looked after. So if you are fed up with the boring hum drum cars we seem to have to drive nowadays, then why not do something about it and treat yourself to a distinctive but practical car for the price of a decent plasma tv!!

STANDARD & OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT
EXTERIOR & INTERIOR CONDITION
As we have already mentioned this car is in superb condition all round, we have had it thoroughly valeted to further enhance its condition, so it is now scrupulously clean inside and positively gleaming on the outside! Starting our appraisal at the front end: there are the usual light stonechips to the bonnet and front bumper that you would naturally expect, there is a very slight distortion to the front bumper under the passenger side fog light indicating that it has nudged something at sometime although this hardly notices, the small grille panel is also missing (see photo 1), there is a small bird lime mark on the bonnet approx 1/2" round that has gone through the paint. this would touch in and hardly notice (see photo 2). The drivers side is all excellent, there are a couple of tiny door edge chips that to be honest you have to look hard for to find, also the sill trim has done the usual thing and split under the rear door, these trims cost about £20 from VW and simply clip on (see photo 3). The rear end is free of any damage or marks, the passenger side is also very good except for two small surface rust blisters on the edge of the front door, one on the bottom corner (see photo 4), and one on the edge just above the moulding (see photo 5), the only other mark worthy of mention on this car is a tiny blister above the windsreen trim on the drivers side (see photo 6). The grained plastic side and wheel arch mouldings are all free of any major scrapes and are not discoloured. The 16" alloy wheels are in super condition with no corrosion marks and very few kerb scratches, the VW emblems on the centre caps have faded and could do with replacing to make the wheels look mint, the tyres are three Pirelli P6000's and one budget, the most worn still has around 6mm of treawear and the best is almost new (see photos 7-10). The windscreen has one miniscule stonechip in it which will never spread or fail an MOT test, the headlights, rear lights, mirror glasses etc are all free of cracks and chips.
The sports interior has never been smoked in and is in outstanding condition with no undue wear or tear to the seats, carpets, headlining, door panels or any other trim, the carpets have been covered with overmats from new and are unmarked underneath, the sports seats have no sagging on the bolsters or rips, there hasn't been any aftermarket speakers fitted to this car so the interior is as close to "as new" as you are going to find anywere. The boot area is in good and clean condition, the original warning triangle is still in the car, the space saver spare wheel and tools are located the boot carpet and are all present.
All electrical equipment ie; windows, mirrors, locking, stereo etc are all working fine with no faults to report.

MECHANICAL & ELECTRICAL CONDITION
The 2.0 8V engine starts first time everytime hot or cold with no hesitations, it idles smoothly and revs freely to the red line with no smoke, knocks or rattles. The five speed manual gearbox goes straight into forward or reverse gears without any resistance, it changes gear perfectly without any crunching or baulking, it is also free of any gear whines or other undue noises, the clutch is light on the pedal and is free of any judders or slipping, the final drives and driveshafts operate without vibration or undue noises. The power steering works perfectly with no undue noises or whines, the suspension is free of any sloppiness, bounce, creaks or rattles. The ABS brakes stop the car is a straight line with no steering wheel wobbles, pedal judders or noises, the discs and pads appear to have plenty of service left in them too.
All electrical equipment ie; ABS, airbags, lights, wipers, horn etc are working fine with no faults to report.
SUM UP
We are pretty sure that the winning bidder of this car will be pleased when they first see it and drive it, this car is one of those rare examples that has not been "got at" or abused, as you can see there are very few cosmetic blemishes and it has been maintained exceptionally well and need nothing doing to it whatsoever service or maintenance wise, so the new owner has pretty much got a years motoring before any routine money need spending, if anything serious does go wrong with these cars there are so many specialist breakers that deal only in VW's, so even a major item can be sourced at reasonable cost.
