Where do I install this iPOD interface?
This installation will require you to remove the factory radio in order to plug in the vehicle specific harness. We have posted instructions on removing your factory radio below. If you have any questons about this please e-mail us at sales@integrationsolutions.net and we will be happy to assist you.
Once you have the radio removed here are the instructions for installation (Also included with order):
1.) Connect the 8-pin connector of this AUX input interface to the external CD Changer port of the factory radio, look at figure
After you have indentified your connector on the back of your factory radio, unplug any plug that might be plugged into it, if you have a factory external CD Changer or OEM cassette (this is still compatible with the oem external cassette, see diagram below) this would be plugged in here, if you have a factory cassette player plugged in to your radio you will plug this in at your cassette player location. You will have to disconnect this in order to plug this interface in.
2.) Connect appropriate length patch cord (1/8" mini jack to RCA cable included, pictured below- 6 ft. long) between AUX input and auxillary device (ex. MP3 player, DVD, etc.)
3.) Re-install radio into dash
Is this compatible with my iPOD? What iPOD's is this compatible with?
This interface is compatible with all iPod's including the shuffle, and any other MP3 player you might have. Just plug a RCA to Headphone jack into the interface and your MP3 player.
How do I select AUX as a source on my Honda Radio?
Remember, this interface will you to select your aux input just as you would a external CD Changer. So by Pressing the CD button TWO times your radio will go to AUX mode. If you have a factory AM/FM/CD player you will press the CD button one time to access your CD player and then press it once more while in CD mode to access this AUX input (your CD player will still work perfect), without this plugged in you can not access anything on your factory cd player by pressing the CD button twice. At this point your radio will say "CD 1 TRACK 1"on the radio display. This display confirms that the AUX mode has been completely synchronized and activated, you will begin to hear audio from your device at this time.
You will not be able to control your iPOD from your radio but you will have full control from your iPOD itself.
Will I still be able to use my CD player with this interface?
Yes, your factory CD player will not be affected at all by installing this interface. Please remember if you have a factory in-dash 6-disc CD Changer this interface is not compatible with it, because that radio lacks the appropriate input.
Can I still use the Buttons/Click Wheel on my iPOD/MP3 with this interface?
This interface allows you to keep full control of the iPod from the click wheel once installed. You can play it through your factory car stereo with crystal clear sound while controling it like you would normally. You will also be keeping your iPOD fully charged and never over charging it becuase of the built in timer to control the charge it is getting.
