Reluctantly I'm selling my Rover 115 diesel (basically the metro, 100 series).
It's been in our family for about three years now, my brother bought it to go to Normandy France on holiday (made it there and back no problems, 1500 miles in 2 weeks!). I bought it from him in March 2006 when he changed to a bigger car. It's done about 20,000 miles since we bought it and has never let us down, we've always serviced it ourselves every 5000 miles or so to keep it running sweet. The only reason I'm selling it now is I need a bigger car to tow a caravan.
It starts first time and runs like a dream and easily returns 50+ MPG round town which is very important these days!
Since we got it we've spent quite a bit of time and money on it including:
Repaired wheel arches (replaced with new steel, not body filler) Replaced the cam belt (at 58,000 miles) Replaced the start/ stop solenoid Bought a new key fob for the remote central locking / alarm (the last one fell apart) Replaced the clutch (July 07) New brake disks and pads (June 06) New rear shoes (can't find the receipt for this) Two new lock solenoids so all four doors open on the remote central locking Swapped the interior for one with a split back seat (very handy) New exhaust back box for last MOT Serviced by myself in last 100 miles Any welding needed for MOT has been done to a good standard by me (I'm a trained welder and like to restore classic cars)
The ONLY problems I have found with the car is that in places the paint work is not amazing. This is particularly the case on the bonnet (it obviously used to be red but this was changed before we bought the car) and round the drivers lock where the rest of the key bunch does the damage. It's perfectly presentable though and hasn't bothered us at all. Also, panels are easy to source for these so if you were really bothered you could pick up a bonnet and door in the right colour for ten quid or so each and make it completely immaculate.
There is NO TAX (I cashed it in) but it has got a FULL YEARS MOT.
The car is currently on my mum's drive in Hucknall Nottinghamshire. Cash on collection preferred.
