Triumph 900 Sprint 1995
APOLOGIES TO ALL WATCHERS AND BIDDERS ITEM HAD TO BE RELISTED DUE TO EBAY ERROR
I am selling, very reluctantly my Superb Triumph 900 Sprint, due to another project which is taking more time and money than I expected!!!
My VW Camper needs bodywork and an engine topend overhaul and therefore my Triumph has to go.I have A Guzzi LeMans cafe racer and I could not bear to part with that, so the Triumph is up for sale.
I searched long and hard for this bike and viewed quite a lot of over priced rubbish, before buying this one.I carried out a HPI check before buying it.
I am the third owner from new with only 17850 miles on the clock which does seem very genuine as I have loads of service history, stamped service book receipts etc etc.
I have just put a years mot on it,which it sailed through with no advice notes at all and the tester said it was one of the cleanest he had seen for many years.
I have overhauled the rear brake caliper with new pistons and seals(genuine Triumph parts) as the pistons were sticking. This is a well known weakness as like the early Honda callipers they get all the road muck and as most people use the front brakes for the majority of the time the rears tend to gum up.At the same time I changed pads all round and fluids obviously.
The bike has a Spyball alarm/immobiliser professionally fitted. It was on the bike when I got it and has manuals instructions etc etc.At my age it does not make much difference to insurance premiums but it will help if you are younger or live in a higher rated postcode than me!
The bike has a renntec rack fitted which is very useful for carrying luggage etc.
The bike rides superbly and the engine is very" torquee",pulling from very low down, but with enough guts to surprise a few modern sportsbike if ridden well.
I am old school and love low revving motors, which just go without having to change down umpteen gears and I hate narrow powerbands.Plus you have the great triple off beat sound.
These engines are very strong and over engineered as Triumph could not afford to get it wrong, as they had to compete and build up a reputation quickly. Before anyone asks the sprag starter clutch is fine.Another weak area, but fine if you keep the battery in good nick so it spins the motor over fast enough.I keep the bike on an Optimate in the garage.
I have just carried out a service checking everything including valve clearences and everything is spot on.Oil and filter changed.
I am always honest in my descriptions(check my feedback) so would like to mention the following.
The chain and sprockets will need changing within the next 4-5000 miles.
There are some very minor marks as this bike is 13 years old.
The paint is starting to peel on the rear wheel and is slightly marked on the lower engine cases.
I would add that I am not interested in emailing anyone money to Nigeria,I am not taking part exchange and that no test rides will be allowed unless you give me £1500 in cash.
I have the logbook registered to me and two sets of keys/alarm fobs etc.
This bike is a very good honest example which I am sorry to see go,but needs must and hopefully the new owner will get more use out of it.
Viewings before auction close are welcome.
I will only release the bike upon clearence of payment.
You bid to win,not to come and kick tyres after the auction and try and haggle the price down.I do not take kindly to people wasting my time!
Thanks for looking and you would be hard pressed to find a nicer example.
Once again so sorry for relisting. This was a genuine ebay error
