Toyota Corolla 1.3 XLi with the 16v EFI engine

This car has been a great little run about but on a bit of an impulse I bought another car so now must sell this one. I’ve had the car for nearly a year and it has started first time, every time. I’ve driven it over 200 miles at a time, up and down motorways with no problems so I have every confidence that it will get you home, where ever you live.

Good points:

Starts first time, every time

Good with petrol

Full service history, last serviced at 99826 miles, next due at 108826 miles

MOT till 3/12/2008

Tax till 31/5/2008

All electrics work,

Standard radio connectors,

Power Assisted Steering,

Tilt steering wheel,

Central locking,

Unmodified and completely standard,

4 Dunlop tyres fitted in October 2007

Strong engine,

Good 5 speed gear box,

Clutch is getting a bit high but does not slip

Bad points:

Some rust round rear arches (not major, just surface)

Numerous stone chips,

Couple of little dents (nothing big or with broken paint)

3 advisories from last MOT: Rear anti-roll bar rubber bush deteriorated, Front no. plate cracked, Fuel filler pipe corroded (nothing major, just surface rust)

Small oil leak (nothing major, just a few drips like most cars of this age)

Boot door open sensor is a bit temperamental – boot needs to be shut hard for it to go out.

Fuel filler cap is not 100% perfect but it still opens and shuts without a problem

Front headlight seal has gone (see picture) – the light still works though 

I was going to get the little bits done at the next service/MOT as the car drives absolutely fine. I have tried list all the minor faults that I know about but I’m not a mechanic. The bills for the MOT and last service are available and just have the information listed above on them.

Tax costs are £66 for 6 months or £120 for 12 as it’s due at the end of the month. The radio is not included in the sale but I will part with it for £50 (ipod, cd and mp3/wma cd compatible)

Ideal first car / run around. I am sad to see it go as it’s been the best second hand car I’ve ever had.

You are welcome to view and test drive the car (if you have insurance) before the end of the auction. Bids are to buy and you should be able to bid with confidence as all the known faults are listed.
