Here we have our family car! The original and still the best of all the MPV's, today, the espace is still the benchmark all others have to follow!
The car drives and handles well and is still a smooth and comfortable ride with;
Economic 2.1 td engine (35 to 55 mpg depending on drving style and load)
Power steering,
Arm rests on all seats, see pics
Picknick tables on the back of the front 2 seats which are captain chairs so swival, see pics
All 7 seats recline and have headrests,
2 sunroofs,
electric front windows
Sony Xplod radio cassette player in the dash with a 10 disc autochanger in the boot the front speakers are upgrades so it sounds good.
All tyres and exhaust are good and the heaters work well. only p2 doesn't work on the blower and the rear wash nozel has snapped off (some idiot opened the boot with a ladder on the roof)
Tow ball with double electrics for caravan as well as normal tail lights and on board light indicator
Nicknamed appolo 11, for obvious reasons (with 530k on the clock it has been to the moon and back) this car has served us well, so if your still reading i'll give you a brief history (try to stay awake)
it started life, from new, as a taxi. It clocked up an amazing 480k on the original engine and gear box then disaster struck and the gearbox failed. The previous owner fitted a new (yes new, not 2nd hand or re conditioned but new) gearbox. it went for another 3000 miles and threw a conrod as the owner was just setting off on holiday. At this point she'd had enough so sold it to recover the cost of the new gearbox. I got it with a dead engine, although it still ran on the 3 remaining pistons! I removed the useless offal and fited a 2nd hand engine which had 120k on the clock. it has run like a dream eversince and I have put another 50k on the clock. so in short. the chassis has done 530k, the gearbox 53k and the engine 170k.
The previous owner serviced the car well as it was her living. I did the same as it's mine too. although i'm a builder and so it was more a van to me
It has sailed through the past 2 mot's with only minor repairs. 1 shock, 2 bushes and a headlamp in 2 years! it had a new cam belt at 520k and new rear shocks and springs and an alternator at 510k. the glowplugs will need changing before winter, not because it's lazy to start, (far from it) but I did them 18 months ago and they should be done every 2 years.
I was so impressed with this car i brought the newer ph 3 version!
Now,be reaslistic witht the condition of the car. mechanicly is sound but the body, paint and interior are tired and in need of attention. lots and lots of little scratches and marks. i've listed 12 photos the first 6 show off the good points the last show the bad bits, scratches and screwholes from its life as a taxi and a broken front bumper. also note the drivers seat has dropped a litle on the right hand side.
The pics show 6 seats as this was the format we prefered. I have all 7 seats but no central lapstrap. they are regularly available from ebay but i never bothered as 6 was enough for us.
It's being sold without the road tax, but I will sell the remaining tax to the winning bidder at the current rate.
( 5 months at 185 for 12, that'll be 77.08p ( call it 70 for cash)) or i'll take it off and get the lot from the DVLA.
you are bidding to buy and not kick tyres then haggle over the price, winning bidder will pay cash on collection with all cheques cleared before the vehicle is released.
Photograps make some thing bad look good, and vice versa. You should view before you bid it's up to you if you don't.
Good luck and happy bidding!
