Reluctant sale of my superb M series machine. I have only had her since November last year when I bought her from a fellow Ebayer who has had M5s for 15 years. From the first journey back from picking her up I have loved every minute driving her. The drive train is bomb-proof and she glides along deceptively quickly. If you drive her carefully you'd get close to 30 mpg on a long journey, only the temptation to enjoy her has meant I've only got 26 out of her at best. She has been my daily transport for the last 4 months and never let me down.Since I bought her I have treated her to a full Inspection ii service (the expensive one) together with new discs and pads at the front. There are a couple of bushes I'd want to replace if I were keeping her just to sharpen the handling. She has been fitted with a performance chip (invoice to prove) and has a stainless exhaust, both of which would increase the power to an estimated 360bhp.The good bits:
- Good overall condition just a little bubbling of paint on the lower section of the front N/S wing in front of the door.
- Just 5 owners
- Less than 90,000 miles
- Straight through exhaust system
- Superchip + K&N filter
- Electric seats and sunroof
- Good interior in motorsport cloth and grey alacantra
- Air-con
- Tracker - fitted but not turned on.JVC CD player
- Original alarm and immobiliser
- 12 months MOT
Areas that could be improved:
- N/s rear electric window can stick
- The electronic suspension can go off if you hit a particularly large pot-hole
- Battery can go flat if left for a significant amount of time (from previous seller).
- Chip on windscreen - not stopped her getting MOT.
She is a Cat C recorded insurance claim as a result of a previous owner leaving her too close to the river Severn. There is no evidence the water got into the cabin. The previous owner bought her from a trader with this record back in 2005.The reason I am selling her is because the car has a centre lap belt in the rear and our 8 year old really needs a 3-point belt when we are all in (3 kids in total). So, my wonderful wife has allowed me to trade up to an e39 M5 which does have 3x3-point belts in the back.You could own a slice of BMW history with one of just 343 RHD E34 M5s brought into the UK for Mondeo money.
