Bought this bike on spec. on a return trip after buying an old
Panther. I had to go a long way to pick up the Panther so I took
advantage of having space in a hire van and brought it back from
Bradford. It was a non starter and in poor condition but the guy had owned it from 1996 and he was sorry to see it go. the
paintwork was poor etc. so I re-fettled it, put an E.C.U. on it,
repainted it in the original colour (its wot we do for a living)
fitted a tacho cable and fixed it up for its MOT test. It didn't really
need much else as the guy had spent a few hundred quid servicing it
before he laid it up. I am told by the guy at Moto-Ecosse(guzzi
dealer) that these are a rare bike, exclusively imported by a guzzi
dealer in the early nineties. they are based on the 750 targa but
without the bodywork. It is missing the "750T" badges that go on the
side panels but I suppose something could be made up as a substitute. I
haven't run it far, about 20miles(its untaxed and it would put another
name in the log book if I taxed it) but it is good fun to ride, in
common with other guzzis' the footbrake operates left-front and rear
brake with the front brake operating right-front and enough torque to
pull a train. Both compressions are good and it burns no oil(no
smoke)transmission works ok with no clutch slip and correct gear
selection It is NOT a concours bike but it is tidy and
the next owner can take it to another level. I feel I have saved the
bike and given it a new lease of life and now its ready for a new owner.
There are not many of these about so its worth going for. I have set
the reserve at a realistic £950.00 and if you wish to view(Bike is in
Edinburgh) or have any questions, e-mail me a telephone number and I
will give you a call with details Usual stuff now====reserve the
right to remove as advertised elsewhere===bid to buy UK bidders
only--winning bidder pays cash on collection and collection within
seven days or deposit required=====inadequate feedback bids will be
removed if you dont contact me first --I've been in the motor-trade for
40 years so I've heard it ALL before' know all the scams so lets not
waste each others' time. Check out my feedback, i have a passion for
bikes (haven't we all!!!) and I would keep every one but I have more to
save i.e. my Panther and an Enfield in a box, and when fixed up they
are better being used and appreciated. I also have a Yamaha Diversion
1991 400cc taxed and tested ready to go and looking for a new home
