GOLF GTD INTERCOOLED TURBO DIESEL 1588CC

Welcome to my auction for my MK2 Golf GTD.

Its a reluctant sale but i cant keep all my VWs even thou this car is the most economic and quickest diesel ive owned it deserves a v dubbers home not trauling the M6.

As you will know these were never made in huge numbers and although they look just like a driver or a basic model it does in fact go quite quick . I recently lent this car to a friend to collect a t25, on 550 mile round trip in one day it still had a little bit left in its tank and never missed a beat.

Ive owned this vehicle twice! Bought unseen on ebay in 06 i mistakenly sold on to a friend in 07 and managed to buy back again in 08! It had failed its MOT and required - springs, brake pads, discs, brake pipes all of which got replaced and the vehicle is now MOT ed til 27th MARCH 2009

The GTD was completely standard when i bought it and was running on its original steel wheels small bumpers etc. I have simply replaced them with genuine VAG BIG BUMPERS and alloy wheels with good tyres from another Golf. It has also had a rare boot reflector, window wind reflectors and boot top spoiler from a GTI fitted . Other than this it is standard and the engine has not been played with. I am led to believe it is possible to adjust this little engine up to around 200hp if you so wish!

First the bad points:

• Small patch of rust under windscreen
• on close examination of tyres i noticed a bleb on one of them
• whilst tightening alternator belt i lost the toothed adjustment bolt to assist tightening up of belt
• Faded paint ranging from bright red, pink etc. T cut and polish will do the job if i had time.
• A car this age is obviously going to have its fair share of dings and scratches and it does although non which are too severe. I will provide lots of pictures as this shows it better than explaining every little mark.

Next the good points:

• MOT till 27th march 2009
• TAX till september 2008
• This car has provided me with great pleasure and turns heads, it a lively little lump and is great on fuel.

This model has sunroof in perfect working order , centrol locking, rev counter but is NOT equipped with power steering.

I am located 5miles east of Carlisle and viewing can be arranged. Also should the winning bidder require collection from train or bus station this can be arranged.

Pick up only and cash on collection.

As normal no garentee or warrenty is given what so ever and car is sold as seen. I feel i have been honest with my description and i am unaware of any mechanical faults.

PLEASE NOTE THAT MORE PICTURES WILL BE PUT ON AS AND WHEN I RETURN FROM WORK AND ALSO THE GOLF WILL NOT BE SOLD WITH THE ALLOY WHEELS IT IS SEEN PICTURED ON AS THESE ARE A FRIENDS.

PLEASE NOTE THAT I HAVE HAD TO RETURN ALLOY WHEELS ORIGINALY SEEN IN PICS TO A FRIEND SO THE GOLF GTD WILL COME WITH THE ALLOYS PICTURED IN THE FIELD. THEY ARE 15" IRMSCHER WHEELS WITH RONAL WRITTEN ON THE BACK OF THE CENTRE PIECES. 3 OF THE TYRES ARE GOOD ALL WITH OVER 5MM OF TREAD MINIUMUM. 1 TYRE HAS A BLEB AND WOULD NEED REPLACING. NONE OF THE WHEELS ARE BALANCED! THESE ARE JUST A SPARE SET IVE HAD LYING AROUND.

THE ADDITIONAL PICS ADDED SHOW AREAS OF WORST IMPERFECTION , DRIVERS DOOR ABOVE HINGE HAS SURFACE RUST BUT NOT STRUCTURAL. FUEL FILLER SLIGHT RUST AROUND ABOUT. DRIVERS SIDE SILL HAD 5P HOLE WHICH WAS WELDED BACK IN MARCH FOR MOT. AS YOU CAN SEE PASSENGER SILL AND CAR UNDERBODY IS PERFECT.

CAR INTERIOR REMAINS STANDARD AND JUST NEEDS A CLEAN LIKE REST OF CAR , SORRY NOT HAD TIME TO CLEAN IT OR POLISH.
