- roof painted in rover diamond white for 'cooper look'.
- 2 fairly new tyres to front (fitted january 08).
- n/s upper ball joint and fron hub replaced at local garage March 08.
Known area requiring attention for next MOT:
There are a couple of rust holes in the o/s inner sill which could do with patch welding before next MOT. The rear tyres are nearing their legal minimum (but I have a couple of spare part worn tyres that I could include in the sale for free). Also, but not affecting MOT, there is a slight oil leak from the bottom of the engine-gearbox block (common to most minis and quite an effective rust preventer for the front subframe!) - I have a replacement pair of rubber seals for the driveshafts which i will throw in with the sale also.
For anyone wanting to return car to original 2+2 interior, I have the original front passenger and rear seat belts included in sale. Rear wheel and tyre included also.
The car starts and runs very reliably and has been in daily use with myself only for the past year - the gearbox and clutch work fine and the engine pulls strongly in all gears. The car is quite a bit nippier than standard with the tuning kit added and excess weight removed. It's still very economical though - I regularly get 40 mpg on my commute to work - about 160 miles between fill ups - and it has cheap tax (£115) and insurance (£150 tpft for me, age 33). At this price it also beats the depreciation trap!
All in all, I've had a lot of fun with it over the past couple of years and would continue to do so, but I need at least one car that can be used for family transport and this is my second - the other being a '72 project mini, so must sell really!
Pease feel free to e-mail me any questions or to arrange a viewing/inspection of the car which is located at my home address in Horsham West Sussex. Cash on collection please. Sensible offers considered.
