If you are looking at this and have seen some others, then I hope you will appreciate how nice an example this is!

About my car:

My SL has only covered 79,900 genuine miles from new. It has a Full Service History from day 0 comprising of 15 x Mercedes Main-Dealer stamps, in addition to the most recent Local Mercedes Specialist stamp.
There are also all old MOT's & various reciepts which have been kept over the years to detail the history and mileage etc.

The car is finished in what is described in the original Mercedes service book as "Pearl Grey". The paintwork is original and excellent in all aspects - almost totally without fault body wise.
There may be literally 1 or 2 stone chips but that's about it. The paint is gleaming (as can be seen in the photos) because from day 1, it has been very well looked after.

My particular car comes with the original factory hard top which was supplied by Mercedes when brand new.
This is also in excellent condition - The folding roof is totally automatic as you probably know, but most importantly it works smoothly and without fault.
The safety roll-over hoop is also electrically operated and the driver may choose to have this either up or folded away at the simple press of a button.
The hood is the original Mercedes one, and to be honest this lets the car down a little. I've looked into replacing this and brand new hoods can be sourced from as little as £400 so I wouldn't let this put you off
- *NB: The hood isn't hanging apart or ripped and still looks respectable!

My car has what I call the "metal-pack" (factory option) which comprises of brushed steel "Mercedes" branded door-step inserts, titanium grille, screen & hartop trim and bootlid finisher (see pics).
This makes the car look far better than the standard items.

There are 5 x original deep dish Mercedes AMG Split Rim Alloys which have been fitted from day 1. The 2 x rear tyres are also new, and the spare alloy has not been used.
To be totally honest and straight, the rims of the alloys have lost their shine after all these years, but they do polish up with a little effort.
The alloys look great on the car and really give the car a striking presence - see the photos, taken today 28/6/08.

I have replaced the amber indicator lenses to the clear style indicators as i prefer these. I have kept the original amber indicators and these of course will aditionally come with the car.

There are full electrics comprising of: Electric roof & Safety roll bar (as mentioned), Electric memory seats (3 memory settings), Electric headrest adjustment, Electrically adjusted steering column,
Electric mirrors, Electric Rear View Mirror (...yes, really!), Electric Aerial, Cruise Control. I have probably missed some additional features.

The interior is black leather and is in excellent condition.
On close inspection there is a little wear to the drivers seat bolster that is only down to the age and not abuse
(The leather has 2 very small splits which have occured on the natural creases within the leather - possibly can be fixed without replacing this section).
The car has had Mercedes-Benz overmats fitted from new, and the carpets beneath are pristine. The over mats are also still in excellent condition.

When the car was brand new, the stereo was upgraded by "Alpine".
There is still the original Alpine processor hidden within the storage compartment behind the passenger seat and 2 Alpine speakers herein, in addition to the standard door and dash speakers.
The Alpine radio had become outdated and has been replaced with a more modern and up to date Pioneer unit within the last few years.
The sound is very good quality and the electric aerial works perfectly.
*NB When mentioning the stereo, It's worth mentioning that all this was professionally installed when the car was new and has been left "as is" ever since.

Minor points worth mentioning:
The drivers side sun visor's mirror cover has become detached *still supplied.
There's a small minor scratch and a paint blister on the hard top roof that has been left as is and not touched up (scratch is genuinely hardly noticeable unless pointed out - see photo).
There are 2 x minor paint scuffs on the corners of the front bumper (to be fair, these wouldn't polish out).
There is a stone chip that is visible in the picture on the Passenger Side headlamp.

As can be seen, the car has been maintained very well and if anything, over serviced.
Before we bought the car, I have known it for years as it has belonged to a friend's aunt.
Prior to this, the car was known to their family as it belonged to the owner of the company his uncle worked for.
I have a reciept dated 25-03-92 from Mercedes-Benz, detailing of them supplying the car to him for the sum of £46,200 at 3937 miles.
I have all the original documentation and paper work inside the original leather folder.

I must add that my number plate "G1 ALN" is not included in the sale in any way, shape or form! The car will revert back to the original (H) registation.
I will do my utmost to see to all the paperwork etc in order to make any transaction smooth and easy for the new owner and at my expense!
Also, Rest assured you will get an accurate description, leaning towards my description being over cautios. I will make any bad aspects of the car sound worse than they are!!!!! (rather it that way).

My car is in Great Condition - It drives faultlessly. Cruising at 80mph the MPG indicator reads 32-35mpg.
The autobox is switchable allowing both "E"conomy and "S"port modes to be selected.
Gearchange is smooth, oil pressure spot on and running temperature perfect. It really looks like a million dollars!!!!!!!
