this is a great opportunity for some golf nut to get a good solid base for a new project. i've owned this car for the last 8 years and its been dry stored for the last 5. i never wanted to sell it but the house is being sold and there is no where to store it anymore. it hasn't been driven because i get a work van and i'd rather drive round on the company's fuel than mine. the last time it was turned over or driven was 14/3/05 when i took it for an MOT. at this point it had already stood for 2 years. It drove ok and passed its emissions but failed on seized brakes (to be expected). N/s steering rack boot split. exhaust blowing a bit. and some blown lamps. the mechanic also attached a note to say that the NSF wishbone bush was in poor condition.
pretty much all modification of this car was done by the previous owner who was an editor at REVS magazine, and the car was featured the month i got it. so most of my knowledge is second hand, but here goes. apparently the engine was fully rebuilt at 100k. i never got this confirmed but i also didn't have any bother with it either so it could be true. the car is painted audi imola yellow and to be honest is a cracking job. there are some slight bubbles near the sunroof and some chipping at the front edge of the bonnet. the front wings are not original there where replaced by the previous owner. as you can see from the photos the car has been fully de-locked and given flush audi door handles (the doors alone are worth most of the asking price). bonnet release is done by solenoid off the fob. with big bumpers, arches, rear spoiler, eyebrow spoiler, single headlamp grille, colour coded rear clusters, M3 mirrors and 17" five spokes on 205/40's lowered 40mm. ( its sat on jacks in the photo)
on the interior there are front seats from a sierra cosworth re-trimmed in half leather half alcantara. the passenger seat has slight damage to the alcantara. the rear seats are leather. there is a momo steering wheel was a one off snap off boss.
now it shouldn't be too much work to get on the road as is. new brakes etc. and of cause its a classic and i'll be sorry to see it go but it shouldn't be hidden away. some one should be enjoying it. so happy bidding.
just to reiterate this car has not moved for three years, has no MOT and no tax so will need to be trailered away
