SUZUKI TS125X Motorcycle
- A tall, fast, light two-stroker enduro/motorcross/trailbike from the late 80s and early 90s.
- Monoshock
- Full Floater alloy swing arm and suspension system
- Front disc brake
- Liquid Cooled
- Rare to find one in this condition
The bike has very low mileage for a G registration (just over 8000 miles), with only 3 previous owners. The first owner rode it for two years, fell off it and so fell out with it, and put it in the back of his garage. The second owner bought it years later as a non-runner with the intention of putting it back on the road but never got around to it. The third owner bought it in 2006 with 4500 miles on the clock and got it up and running again.
In 2006 the bike had:
1] New battery 2] New 'Big One' tailpipe 3] New chain and sprocket set (reduced 1 tooth on the front for better top speed) 4] New front brake pads 5] New Bridgestone Trailwing TW301/302 tyres 6] Racing reeds 7] New standard size piston and rings 8] New front wheel bearings
Since I have owned the bike (from February 2007), I have done just over 1000 miles on it and have also added/replaced:
1] New Renthal handlebar grips 2] New mirrors 3] New rear light lens and bulb 4] New indicator bulbs 5] Suzuki sticker set (I tried to get the original style 'TS125X' stickers but couldn't find them anywhere, so some generic SUZUKI stickers were used)
The bike has approximately 8 months road tax remaining (see picture) and has an MOT valid until the end of February 2009.
I have used this bike for commuting to work (only a 10 mile round trip) as it is cheap and economical - it does about 60 miles per gallon, driven sensibly. Insurance is very reasonable; I managed to get it for under £70 for the year.
The bike also comes with the original exhaust and the rear spray guard. It comes with one key that works the ingnition, seat lock, helmet lock and steering lock. It also comes with the V5 and with some old MOT certificates (as well as the current one, obviously).
Learner Information
The bike has been de-restricted from its original 12bhp format (it does 70mph fairly easily and gets to 50 pretty quickly) and so if you are planning to learn on this then you will either have to re-restrict it (have a washer re-welded into the exhaust, downsize the main jet and replace the front sprocket) or tell your insurance company - or not, the choice is yours. I have declared it as being de-restricted at the point of sale so what you do from there is up to you.
Condition of the bike
The bike shows signs of its age - do not expect a showroom condition bike. It has the odd scratch, there is slight discolouration of some of the plastics and metal areas (frame, luggage rack, exhaust) also show signs of wear and tear. There is also a small cigarette burn on the seat (see picture). The bike has the limited edition gold wheel rims but the laquer is starting to peel on the rear rim. The temperature sender works intermittently (not too much of a problem if you keep an eye on your coolant levels). The spring and ball bearing from the kickstart are missing, meaning it doesn't flick itself back in, but it tends to recoil back in when you kickstart it and it doesn't flick out when riding along.
Auction Conditions
You are bidding to buy and not to tyre kick, haggle, etc. I have been as honest as I can be but if you want more pictures or have any questions just ask. You are welcome to view before you buy, by arrangement. The bike is advertised elsewhere so I withhold the right to withdraw the bike from auction at any time. CASH ON COLLECTION ONLY.
