Here we have for sale a Kawasaki Gt 550, one of the most indestructable bikes to ever come out of japan!
perfect as a commuter, a weekend plaything, to convert into a trike, rat, or as spares for another GT.
I aquired this bike as a project, and have spent allot of money and time getting her back together. unfortunately I have neither the time or the space for the bike anymore due to another project (a GSXR 750 slab side), so she has to go.
The bike has new: Spark plugs, HT leads and Intake rubbers. The oil and filter was done just prior to the bike going into storage. The bike comes with stainless steel exhausts with removeable baffles. The exhausts were removed during the original stripdown, and a box of bits including, clutch springs, spare coils, foot rests, and a set of wheels and disks of of a gpz 550 ( the front is a direct swap I beleive) also included are the mirrors, which aren't in the photos. I will throw in a set of brand new front brake pads worth about £40 if the bike goes for a reasonable price. I also have the V5 documents.
She still needs some work so Im selling as spares or repairs. The bad bits..... front tyre is borderline and the rear has a slow puncture, one of the front callipers has a crack in the mounting holes so will need replacing. no battery. The engine has a misfire which I tracked down to the nearside, No.1 cylinder. I dont beleive that the problem is electrical, so that leaves the carbs, which probably need a good stripdown and clean.
The compression was checked and all was good so to the best of my knowledge the engine is sound. the bike has been sat up for over a year in a garage, I havnt tried starting her recently but she started fine last time I tried.
