1989 Pre Production Land Rover Discovery
RE LISTED DUE TO EBAY ENDING AUCTION EARLY AS WAS IN BREACH OF LISTING POLICY (I HAD STATED IT WAS ADVERTISED FOR SALE ELSEWHERE)
Built in April 1989 as a pre production car then registered on 01/10/1989 and used as one of 86 similar vehicles at the 1989 launch of the new Discovery at Plymouth. This one is a V8 3.5 carb version. Manual. In winjammer blue and has engine number 000012. It has PAS, Air Con, Electric Pack, Sunroof, 6 seats, 205/16 Avon tyres as new, MOT until 22/04/2009 and tax until 01/04/2009. This car featured in August 2007 LRO magazine and also won the Tom Barton Trophy at the 2007 Land Rover Heritage Run as best car in run / show. In 2006 I treated the car to a full rebuild and repaint in original colour and have only since used it for shows a few times a year and when not in use has been dry stored. The recorded miles are 141300 - I have some History original hand books etc and lots of stuff that relate to the 1989 launch including official photos that show the car on Dartmoor and a DVD which shows the car at the launch. I have spent thousands on this car, including new wheels , new tyres, complete body repair and repaint, some welding as required, complete wax oil and underbody shultz protection. The car is ready to show for the season and celebrate Land Rovers 60th Birthday and next year is the Discovery 20th Birthday. This car is a true piece of history being both pre production and used in the 1989 launch of the new Discovery. The car drives as you would expect for a 19 year old vehicle and is all working as it should. The gearbox is fine and there are no known faults. I have spent including the purchase about £3500 on this vehicle to restore it to its current condition. Its for sale in order to fund other interesting projects only. The car is located in Tamworth, Staffs. Any questions or to arrange to view please contact Graham on 07809 380144.
