1989 AUSTIN MINI MAYFAIR RED

I brought this car a few years ago and started to restore it, it currently has a valid MOT which expires in June 2010 and it is taxed until 31^st December 2009.

The car features a twin stainless DPM exhaust system, alloy wheels and wide body coloured arches.

Since buying the car I have had the following work carried out:

• Front and rear screen seals replaced
• Steering wheel replaced
• Chrome fuel cap cover fitted
• New horn fitted
• Floor pans welded
• Boot resprayed inside
• New bonnet
• Some respraying and body work

I have also had the engine and gearbox replaced during which time the following work was carried out:

• New throttle cable
• New choke cable
• New speedo cable
• Welding to all perished areas
• 2 new front ball joints
• New subframe mount
• New Drive shaft boot
• 2 new suspension bushes
• Brake pipes

The car currently appears to have an electrical fault that is preventing it from starting although I'm sure someone with a little mechanical knowledge could diagnose and fix the problem, the speedo and rev counter are also failing to read although the speedo cable has been changed and therefore it might have come disconnected at the box or behind the dash. There is also a leaking water pipe, we have had a quick look and think it is coming from the bottom hose although someone with mechanical knowledge might be able to pin point it better than us.

The front of the car requires carpets as I removed the old ones to have the floor pans welded, the front and back seats are original, I have also replaced the rear parcel shelf with a new one. The dash could also do with being replaced or recovered at some point.

The reason I am selling the vehicle is that my work commitments and evening classes now take up a lot of my time and therefore I do not have the time to spend working on the car, I'd therefore like to see it go to a good home instead of sitting idle.
