I bought this car in 2004 from the previous owner who bought the car in 1983 from Lotus cars. This car is one of the very best and most original Giugiaro Esprit Turbo's. This car is simply superb and has attended many events of the LEW and Club Lotus. ( Oxford and Club Lotus action day at Castle Combe pictures included ) It has full history and is original in all respects. The previous owner spent thousands on rebuilding the engine, gearbox and turbo. The car has only seen very careful use since. It has a full stainless exhaust and the turbo and waste gate were all replaced at the same time and all work perfectly.
It is very very unusual to find a car of this type with full history and so few previous owners.
The brakes have been recently rebuilt to include top quality Wilwood four pot callipers and ventilated front discs from Lotus specialist PNM in Merseyside, the original solid brake discs and callipers are all available with the car. The suspension has been rebuilt with SJ Sportscars to include AVO type shock absorbers with adjustable ride height and rate. The car has four immaculate and correct BBS Mahle alloy wheels in silver and four new Dunlop Sport One tyres as now recommended by Lotus. These tyres have made a tremendous difference to the cars grip and handling.
Please understand this car is twenty five years old in original paint so there are some small paint marks and stone chips to the front apron and a small tear in the stitching in the driver’s seat where the back and the seat squab join. This has not been fixed as the car is so original. This car is the real deal and when a Lotus is well looked after, as this car has been, is both a delight to drive and reliable.
The car is taxed, recently serviced, and MOT. It passed the last few MOT's straight through without observation or comment.
New MOT now on this Lotus up to 18 July 2009 and has been taxed for the next twelve months.
This car is ready for a new owner to drive away.
