1983 Ford Capri 2.8i Injection Black Car, Grey Recaros

Welcome to the auction of my 1983 Y reg 2.8 injection Capri which i have owned for 7 years. MOTd until 26^th May 2010 and taxed until 30^th June 2010.

Standard shark grey Recaro interior in excellent condition, clean carpets and headlining, no cracks to the dashboard and all clocks/dials working and larger sports sections to the exhaust which give it a great sound.

Being a member of Manchester Classic Ford Club the Capri has attended numerous shows around the Northwest.

It had a full re-spray/restoration in 2004, a year or so after I had bought it, though as with most old cars there are now minor marks and defects and viewing is recommended before bidding. The condition I would say to be very good for the age but not concourse.

Its very reliable and completed a 450 mile round trip from Manchester to Edinburgh earlier this year with no problems. The mileage is approx 115k (it had covered 100k when a Capri specialist in Blackpool replaced the gearbox and also replaced the instrument panel for some reason and the mileage didn’t match though I have old mot's to back up the mileage).

The car really is a pleasure to own and drive – a solid straight drive that doesn’t wallow about and a responsive engine that pulls away nicely. 4 new tyres fitted in April this year and replaced parts include a new fuel tank and a reconditioned gear box (from Capri specialists North Shore Garage in Blackpool).

Had loads of interest in the car so far with all sorts of questions/queries.  Sorry for not getting back to some of you individually, please find the following which answers most of them;

1. Yes it has a stereo (radio/cassette with CD multichanger connection)

2. All the tyres have loads of tread left - only bought them in April

3. The driver’s seat has the usual small minor wear on the drivers side bolster

4. There are a few rust spots to areas such as front valance, drivers sill/arch and a bit on the tailgate lip (see pics)

5. Yes it does have a sunroof (tilts and slides)

6. Yes the car can be viewed before the auction ends by arrangement - please email/ring/text etc

7. Yes the 8 months tax will be included in the sale
