While this looks like a normal xr4i it is not by far.
Firstly the engine has neen changed to the granada cosworth 24v v6 cosworth BOA engine and transmision. so yes its auto, its easy to change it to manual
But you might like to read more on this.....
i changed the torque converter,,, changed the auto for a newer lower milage box and added a huge cooling rad and oil stat.(as you might know this removes the weak point on these gearbox's), also just in case i also fitted a temp gauge for the auto box oil!!
While i was working on all this, i also changed the whole suspension from the granada, so this is now equiped with the larger brakes all round,larger calipers (yes discs at the rear to) larger anti roll bars etc, the front struts are spax ajustable 4x4 units (fits the hub carriers ya see) and yes it is 5 stud , allowing me to use the alloys of the granada,
the tyres are ok for ages, plenty of meat on them and i also ajusted the camber at the back to set the rear wheels more upright to!
it has a scorpion stainless exhuast system!

Also it does have a twin cam 4x4 dif,, (better ratio for the auto) !
i know by now some will be saying "oh no not auto" but with the torque converter and dif change its very hard to get a manual this fast,it recorded a 0 to 60mph of 6.71 secs at fordfair, its just so much fun!
i am used to it but i still dont often drive it in the wet as the back end can become rather active!
inside is original, very original,, tired after the years as would be expected but lets face it its not a new car! quite a sleeper really, only thing that gives it away as being non standard is the auto selector and lack of clutch peddle!
oh one thing, i also added a linelock, turn off the rear breaks and you remove all the tread on the rear tires in a huge cloud of smoke if you want to,!!
the shell is in a good condition for its age, has had a few very small paches along the sills and the arches are starting to show some corrosion but all in all its sound and passed the MOT with ease (july 2009 so you have quite a bit of that current also has a month or 2 of tax on it)

yes but gearbox mounts would need to be changed, also a flywheel/clutch and clutch peddle and cable!! how ever as auto i have put some effort in to making it faster. it doesnt "bog" as the standard setup does, picks up faster and i think you would find it would be faster than manuals.
but most colougne gearboxes would fit, eg type 9 or MT 75 ( would suggest MT75 as this would take the torque)

yes but it would need the 4x4 gearbox, 4x4 sump (with mods) dif, drive shafts and crossmember, TCA,s and hub carriers.
does it have a stereo ?????????????
i could leave the sony radio/cassette and 6 disk unit in if the price is near what i expect it to be,

also all the anti roll bars are uprated to the granada ones, due to this the car stays quite level on corners.
i do not have a buy it now price but this car is advertised on my forum so i resurve the right to end the auction, tho as far as possible i will leave it to run its course.
