This issue epitomises the fashions of the very early 1980’s. Full and blouson is the order of the day with big shoulder pads beginning to make an appearance.
Not only does the fashion inform of the time but the advertisements speak of an earlier era. Sobranie cigarettes (the height of sophisticated smoking), Hawaiian Tropic sun tan lotion with the tag line 'Keep it dark' no mention of factor or sun protection just the need to be dark,dark brown. Gloria Vanderbilt jeans – so very new and exciting.
Boy George and The Human League make an appearance as the ‘new elegant’.
This issue is interesting for the fashion of 1982 but twenty-five years on it is truly vintage and makes entertaining social history reading.

CONDITION: Very Good This vintage magazine is 26 years old and its very gentle wear reflects its age. It is in very good condition throughout. There is a very slight smudge on the right hand side of the model's nose - it is barely noteiceable - check out the scan in the listing - it is of the actual magazine not a stock picture. The colour is still bright and the pages flat and tight.
STILL IN VOGUE has a policy of honesty in the description of the vintage and used magazines we sell. This may work against us in that we draw attention to damage and it sounds much worse than it is. Not all vintage magazine sellers offer individual condition reports so one is left to assume their magazines are all in mint condition. We hope however that you, the buyer, appreciate that we want to supply you with goods that will match or exceed your expectations and not dash them.
POSTAGE: Vogue issues vary in weight enormously so the postal charges reflect the cost. All parcels are sturdily wrapped to prevent damage in the post.
