I bought this superb 1.5 Super Sud in 2001 as one of the best most original Suds I'd seen for quite a long time. She has survived remarkably well and is still incredibly original.
Newly MOT'd the tester remarked on the exceptional condition of the underside. All the floor is totally original including the jacking points and surrounding areas, together with the sills apart from a small section around one of the stainless trim clips. Other totally original areas include inside the boot (there is no rust around the turrets), the inner wings are superb as are the door pillars and wing mounting rails; there is one small bit of rust on the near side and the offside is as it left the factory; this is quite remarkable. Doors and boot lid just have minor surface rust. Inevitably there is some rust but most of this is very minor; the worst is the leading edge of the nearside rear arch and the bottom of the near side front wing. Please come and have a look at the bodywork. If you wish it can be placed on a ramp.
The engine is the usual Sud gem and at this low mileage is certainly not missing any horses. The gearbox is lovely with nice easy changes; no crunching/weak syncromesh. Brakes are as powerful as you would expect from a Sud.
The full length sun roof is a nice feature. The interior is the worst part of the car. Dashboard and carpets are excellent. Door cards are not warped but have deteriorated in the sun as have the seats. Drivers seat is from a Series 3 car.
I have a lot of old MOT's which support the mileage of 65034. I will happily tax the car at cost.
I am happy for any inspection or test drive.
