1977 Zundapp ZD40 Moped 49cc

3-speed hand change. Pedal start. Dual seat. Rear carrier. 17" wheels. New rear tyre. Aluminium frame.
Re-live the seventies in style with this Dutch Zundapp ZD40 - the Dutch models had bigger carbs so are good for 30mph.
Frame number 9102053
Engine number 9585491
Imported into UK from Holland in 2005.
V5C Registration Document
It has a valuable cherished registration TCD 91R, which is worth around £100.
Tax and MOT are now expired and it is on SORN. (Registration is still transferable).

I bought this attractive moped just over 2 years ago as I'd not seen
one in this country before and I had a Zundapp motorcycle and scooter.
They're well-built and practical machines and I think quite a few have
now been brought over to use for cyclemotor club runs.
It had MOT and tax when I bought it, but they have now expired. I
did not get round to starting it up or riding it. When I bought it I
think the previous owner said that one of the gears sometimes jams when
you select it.
So I'll sell it on that basis - running, but not run for over 2
years and with a possible gearbox fault. I'm sure someone with some
basic spannering skills will sort it out easily.

Just look at that seventies styling.
You too could pose on a period
moped wearing gigantic flares!
(I'm not sure you could actually wear
flares and high heels while riding it though).
What was happening in 1977?
Marc Bolan crashed his Mini into a
lamp-post in Surrey.
Elvis died too.
Saturday Night Fever at the
theatre.
I saw the Stranglers.
Star Wars at the cinema ... the list is
endless.
If you're intrigued to discover how we entertained ourself before
video players and blockbusters were around, this might be just the bike
for you?

VEHICLE CONDITION: Vintage vehicles are wonderful beasts – but each
has an individual personality and they sometimes have bad days just
like you and me.
You will need basic mechanical skills (or a local mechanic) to use one on a regular basis.
2-Stroke engines – and cyclemotors in particular - are notoriously
unreliable. Basic servicing is generally required if unused for even a
few weeks.
These are rare vehicles whose values are not necessarily based on running order.
Unless an auction description specifically states that the vehicle is running, THE VEHICLE IS SOLD FOR RESTORATION.
IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH THE ABOVE, PLEASE DO NOT BID.
