My Mgb V8 Roadster that I have owned for the last 4 1/2 years, I bought it already converted by a previous owner who was an engineer.
It has a Rover vitesse 3.5 V8 with full injection system milled down to fit underneath the bonnet without a bulge. It is running approximately 200 BHP and will run a quarter mile in 15.4 seconds as tested at santa pod!, The gearbox is a rover vitesse 5 speed manual mated to an MGC rear axle to give it the correct ratios and fuel economy, It returned 34MPG at 80mph on a round trip to last years Classic Le Mans. A 1400 mile journey it completed without a problem. The brakes are Rover 4 Pot Calipers with V8 discs and they do a great job of hauling the car up. The suspension has been lowered and rebushed and copes well, The wheels are minilite replicas with matched Hankook tyres all with good tread. It has a stainless exhaust which just gives the right amount of volume when you want to play but is quiet on a long motorway run, The exhaust manifolds are the freeflow tubular type to give better performance. The paintwork is in good condition overall but on close inspection will need attention in a couple of years, I pay £198 a year fully comp insurance through the MG owners club with all the modifications declared and of course it is tax exempt.
