I am prepared to answer any questions you may wish about this item by e-mail.
This is one of several First Day Cover Envelopes I am opening to bids. This one includes the pre-decimal 1shilling and 9 pence, issued to commemorate Sir Francis Chichester's World Voyage in Gipsy Moth IV. The stamp is mounted on a white envelope endorsed 'GPO Commemorative Cover GYPSY MOTH IV' and is approximately 165 x 100 mm. and has been protected in a plastic sleeve since its purchase although there are some signs of a small amount of discolouration/stain towards the top right of the envelope which does affect the stamp. This damage is very light.
The postal franking of the envelope dates the First Day of Issue as 24th July 1967 and the postmark is Brighton, Sussex.
You must judge for yourself from the photograph(s) if this is acceptable to you. I can take other photographs and send them on if there is something I have not clearly identified for you in the photograph(s).
I genuinely do not want to misrepresent any items and would welcome any constructive comments if someone feels that an item I am offering at any time has an incorrect description. I consider there are many more experts than me trading on e-bay and I feel it is extremely helpful to share that knowledge.
The price of the postage will need to be altered if the item raises a high value to reflect the level of insurance. This can be saved if the successful bidder wants to collect the item.
Also if you are asking for delivery outside of the UK you will need to make contact when you win the item so that I can establish the exact amount of postal charges. (I promise that this will be kept to the absolute minimum merely to cover my actual costs). It may be best to pay the charges set on my PayPal bill and I will subsequently refund you if the actual postage costs prove to be less through location or combination. This often saves time in payment and the ability to dispatch items quickly.
If you purchase several items I am prepared to combine the package in an attempt to reduce the charges.
This is not always possible if the value of the auction results in high monitory values. I have found sometimes it is more economical to you and to me to send the items individually. I do not want my postage charges to be excessive to you but I must ensure that the charges cover all my costs, if necessary for insurance and your location in the world. I promise that where possible if it is a multi-buy I will try and reduce the postage cost to you.
This is a genuine sale because we are moving house and downsizing.
