For sale my much cherished 1965 Ford Mustang fastback - GT350 Clone
It is not the usual fastback having recently had a respray in glitter black. This is a car that puts smiles on the faces of young and old and is not for the 'blend in' character. I am always questioned about it (on its infrequent outings) and camera phones come out.
The car has the handsome Torque Thrust wheels, new black pony interior, new paint and really too many new parts to list. It has had a lot of money spent on it over a period of time, the last being 7k spent on a complete engine overhaul by John at American Autos in Hayes. Since the overhaul it has covered approx 100 miles and has been back into John for an oil change and check. It always starts first time (started fortnightly) and tremors a bit on cold, John explained this is because he bored the engine and now there is a lot more raw power going through - when it warms up it growls and runs beautifully! it's running on an electronic choke.
There are rear retractable seatbelts (fitted for my kids), an ipod stereo with removable fascia. You will see on the glove box door the Carol Shelby signature with mustang ranch 005 - I can't vouch for its legitimacy but it was there when I purchased the car. I acquired the car on the 17th February 2007 from SouthCoastMustangs and at that time it was red with white stripes (all docs. are changed). It had had a very poor paint job so I decided to refresh and I think the car looks striking in the glitter black with silver stripes. The car is due a new MOT which I will have done prior to releasing the vehicle. I will be extremely sorry to see the car go because I had been hoping to hold onto it for years to come but a new business venture necessitates releasing a few toys, this as with all my other cars (Lamborghini, TVR, Mustang coupe) has been impeccably cared for and no expense spared. Those of you already looking will know that this is a 45 year old vehicle and being a relatively primitive example of early automotive engineering these are on going hobbies and investments that cannot be driven with the same foot as the modern day car, but boy are they fun on a sunny day. My final plans for the car were to replace the chrome mouldings around the door sills, the rear window and have the tracking looked at (doesn't cause any problems I just like everything perfect or as close to perfect as possible). I simply haven’t had the time to fulfill this however the sills (and everything else FoMoCo) are easily procured from mustangsunlimited in the US – you can order online and they have a good, speedy and reliable delivery. The car is well priced for an example of this conditionn and I can deliver within London or relatively closeby, ANY questions, more photographs or to view the car (recommended) please do not hesitate to contact me on 07766331424. No wannabe hamiltons of tyre kickers please. – Best of Luck!!
