1963-4 Mosrite Ventures Bass Project
-this bass plays excellent, needs electronics and the tub filled or covered, that sums it up!

Neck (unusual ONE PIECE, not  two piece  maple neck with rosewood fingerboard)
  the black paint on the back of the headstock is NOT covering any headstock repair of damage. the neck is
    NOT  cracked or damaged. there are many extra holes drilled and some filled (you can see this) .

This bass has an amazing resonance and sounds incredible.
the frets are in excellent original condition.
Serial Number is 504x.  this one of the earliest 50 ventures basses, bridge looks like a prototype brass.
tuners are non original .
the black patches on the back of the body and on the back of the headstock  are paint.

this bass has obviously had a lot of changes, please look at the photos carefully and ask questions. this is a really cool instrument.  there are no surprises, you can see all the modifications, routes , drill holes etc. in the photos. in addition , the bass does not have a finish that covers any changes or damage to the wood... what you see here is what you will get. plays great, just needs pickups, pots, pickguard, output jack.

I dont know much about Mosrite history, i tried to do my research on the web before listing, but another ebayer tells me that the 5000 series series serial numbers make it one of the first 50 made...
