The Big honcho himself here at The Den has finally persuaded a friend of his to part with some of his extensive collection of model vintage cars. Amongst theses are the superb quality white metal and plastic models from Signature Models in 1:18 Scale (they are Big in every meaning of the word).
Also an extensive range of models of veteran, vintage and classic cars from the 1900’s to the 1960’s in both 1:18 and 1:32 scales Most of them are hard to obtain in these scales over here. Hence why the 1stwhitewolf wanted to get his paws on them for his collection. This collection did contain a few duplicate models. Though mostly they have been disposed of in the past. Once they are gone they are gone. So do not miss this opportunity to obtain for yourself one of these finely detailed models. Mostly they are new and only been removed from their boxes for photographing and to prepare this catalogue. All cars will be sold “AS SEEN” in the photographs. Please Ask. ````````````` 1963 ``` Studebaker Avanti ``` Modelled By Signature Models ``` 1:32 Scale ````````````` Please note parents these models could be a “Chocking Risk” for very young Children. ``` Studebaker first brush with fame was when they produced wagons for the Union Army during the American civil war. When the automobile appeared Studebaker switch to producing cars, by the 1920’s they had a reputation for turning out fairly reliable cars at a reasonable cost. As the 1920’s came to a close, Studebaker was struggling. (Who Wasn’t Or Isn’t Now for that matter.) Its acquisition of the famous Pierce-Arrow Motor Company in 1928 nearly sent them into bankruptcy. Studebaker held on through the Great Depression and the 1940’s After WWII, they were the first American Car Company to introduce new and dramatic designs. By the close of the 1950’s Studebaker was once more beset with financial difficulties. During the early 1960’s Studebaker decided to build their way out of their difficulties. Their design team was sent into seclusion. The result was an ultra-Quick design program that actual produced one of the most enduring and inspirational designs ever. The 1963 Studebaker Avanti There was inspiration and hope in the name itself. It is Italian for “FORWARD” Unfortunately it was but a name. When the then ailing president of Studebaker, Sherwood Egbert was replaced by Byers Burlingame. Studebaker’s fate was sealed. By mid 1964 the main A number of private organizations stepped in and refused to see a great car perish. They continued production even to this day. ``` This is one of the precision models in 1:32 Scale produced by Signature Models. It is our option that Signature Model Cars rank along side Franklin Mint for quality of reproduction of vintage & veteran Model Cars. They are a nice size and made with precision and care. We think they are delightful and they come out at a reasonable price. Just one look at this 1:32 scale precision die cast replica is all that is required to realize the uniqueness of both the original car and the model. This factory baked-enamel finished masterpiece looks every bit as spectacular as the originals 1963 Avanti did. ``` This authentically styled1: 32 precision replica of a 1963 Studebaker Avanti. Has a delicious burgundy, baked enamel finish, coachwork body with a chrome coloured trim. This Model of features opening doors. Also has a bonnet that can be carefully opened to reveal the superb engine detail. It also has a trunk. That can be opened. It is finished with chrome, lights, fenders, external and internal door handles, wheel hubs, wing mirrors, bonnet mascot and wipers. The tyres are black rubber having detailed tread. Its interior is in scarlet and light grey. With black upholstery. ``` It stands on its own black display plinth. This is mounted with its own name plaque. It also comes with its own plastic display dome. This lovely precision model of a 1963 Studebaker Avanti. Measures approximately six inches long by two inches high. ``` Like Franklin Mint and The National Motor Museum Models it is the precision modelling and attention to accurate detailing that sets these fine models by Signature apart from the main stream of Vintage and Veteran vehicle models. Condition of this vehicle is very good. It comes in its original silver and gold box. ``` A piece of American motoring history in miniature.
