This is a vintage Ludwig 400 snare drum. Being one of the most famous snares to own; this particular 400 is a classic and is in great condition for its age. This drum dates around 1962, a rare Aluminum shell Pre-Serial Number snare, with early Brass shell characteristics; probably one of the first run 400s with an Aluminum shell.

Shell - 14"x5" Chrome on Aluminum (with crimped snare beds)
Finish - Chrome (some light pitting)
Hoops - Chrome on Brass
Lugs - Ludwig Imperial lugs x 10
Damper - Baseball Bat / Red Felt
Heads -  Ludwig Ctd Batter, Thin Clear Bottom
Release - Ludwig P-83
Snare Wire - Original Ludwig 20 Strand Wire

Shell Condition: 8/10
Overall Condition 9/10

The chrome shell features a crimped in snare bed and inverted flange bearing edge, only found on original early Brass 400s.

All lugs and components are fully functional so grab yourself a rare classic snare drum now!
