You are bidding on a 1960 Triumph 650 Tiger 110 with matching frame and engine numbers. I purchased this bike a couple of years ago from the auctioneers Bonhams of New Bond Street London, it formed part of the Alan Dodsworth collection and was being sold on behalf of the executor to the deceased estate.

Alan Dodsworth had an engineering background; served an apprenticeship at Napier's and went on to be a toolmaker at Fairy Aviation (then Westland Helicopters in Hayes) He was a dedicated and knowledgeable motorcyclist with a large bike collection, he was a member of the Vincent Owners Club, Pioneer Motorcycle Club and the Vintage Motor Cycle Club, with the Triumph being a regular attender to many VMCC rallies,as well as the Manx Grand Prix and Tourist Trophy events on the Isle of Man.

The original buff log book reveals that the bike was sold new in August 1961 via Triumph dealers Taylor Matterson Ltd of Balham, South London. Sporting it's black and cream paintwork, and since then has had only 5 registered owners in total. It still retains its original registration number (147 ALW) which is transferable.

Totally restored by Alan Dodsworth back in 1996 to original specification with the exception of the cylinder head, upgraded to the later nine stud head with larger vales and married to a new Amal concentric carb ( original mono block comes with the bike)  This set up just sharpening up the performance a little.

The only reason for selling is I simply waste too much time looking at the bike and not riding it, and the wife wants the room back in the house and I mean house and not garage!

I will not remove the bike from the auction, so please do not ask if there is a buy it now price. The auction estimate is the same as when I bought it from Bonhams over two years ago  £4,000 - 5,000, I had to pay a 15% premium on top of that lot!  which I dont think you get with Ebay

Terms: I will require a 10% deposit of the sold price of the bike within 24hrs of the auction finishing. Buyer must collect from my house in South Shropshire with the rest of the balance on collection as cash, bankers draft or paypal.
