FROM RAFT TO RAFT by Bengt Danielsson, Publ. George Allen and Unwin, London First British Edition 1960 Please click on photos for larger photos. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Translated from the Swedish, this book tell the story of the fantastic raft voyages by Eric de Bisschop and his crew. As thrilling as the 'Kon Tiki' expedition. Eric de Bisschop's voyages from Tahiti to Chile and back in rafts 'Tahiti Nui' and 'Tahiti Nui II' were done to show that Tahitian sea rovers could have traveled as far as Chile and Peru. They actually sailed twice as far as the Kon-Tiki but the voyage culminated in tragedy and finally in the death of the leader. Hard Cover. 8x5 inches. 184 pages, Index, nicely illustrated with some decent b/w photos. Now 47 years old. Would make a nice present for anyone who likes boats and the sea. Condition: Jacket a bit rubbed with the odd crease with some marks to rear & price clipped but not bad for age, some brown spots to edge of pages, fairly clean inside with the odd mark, no inscriptions.
