True Blue Issue
This issue is themed to the colour of the season - blue. Many advertisements are tinted blue and many of the fashions are shown in blue too. the ten page True Blue feature is fully illustrated on every page - see the scans of the pages. Vogue's eye view of Portugal and Madeira is photographed byHenry Clarke- 17 pages. Nylon stockings are heavily advertised and some new manmade fabrics are beginning to be promoted, foundation wear which looks very constricting is still in mode and appears to have provided very firm foundations indeed!
The advertisements are as instructive and enjoyable as the editorial - a really fascinating timepiece.
CONDITION: Very Good
This vintage magazine is 51 years old and is in remarkably good condition throughout. The pages are flat and tight. Check-out the scan of the cover, it is the magazine on offer not a stock photograph. The base of the spine has half cm missing but is otherwise robust and intact. The copy shows only gentle wear without damage. It is very collectable.
STILL IN VOGUE has a policy of honesty in the description of the vintage and used magazines we sell. This may work against us in that we draw attention to damage and it sounds much worse than it is. Not all vintage magazine sellers offer individual condition reports so one is left to assume their magazines are all in mint condition. POSTAGE: Vogue issues vary in weight enormously so the postal charges reflect the cost. All parcels are sturdily wrapped to prevent damage in the post.
