For Sale We Have "Rubarb" Our Beloved 1955 BSA Chopper, and in my opinion - Soooo Cool, it makes a Penguin's Bottom on an ice cap Look Hot .....
A True Old School Ride, with Some more modern touch's to bring her kicking into the 21st Century.
The V5C Log Book Shows her as a 1955 BSA A10 Registered on 22nd of July 1955. With only 8 former keepers to her name.
Her Engine is a BSA A7 SS - Shooting Star 500cc, with the rare Alloy Head, and has seen a full rebuild using quality parts from places like SRM .... and engeneering to include things like a crank re-grind, Big End Shells, Time Side bush (now on a plus 30) New rings etc (I Trust you get the picture here)
She Now runs an ALTON ALTERNATOR & ELECTRONIC 12V BOYER INGNITION SYSTEM - THIS BIKE HAS LIGHTS & STARTS EVERY TIME, EVEN IN DARKEST WINTER
She is geared on Road Rocket Gearing - For Top End Speed.
Gear Changes are handled with a Triumph 4 Spring Clutch...
The Front Ends sees her on T140 Folks at 6" Over and some Yummy Custom made slab yolks with a 18" Yammy Wheel and Lockheed Brake.
Her Rear is as Cute as Kylies and has been taken from an Yammy XS650 - see how that caliper fits perfectly in the frame space.
Sporster Tank in Metalic Blue paint with ghost line flames and Black Mudguards she also wears some subtle stickers that can be removed if wanted. Frame is same met blue as tank.
Rubarb has also been kitted out fully with Goodridge Lines and Fittings.
She is TAX EXEMPT with her disc valid untill July and MOT'D Untill OCT 2008.
As one of the photo's shows there is the biggest pile ever of paperwork to go with her......
She's ready to ride away, and has been built to be ridden daily.
Its My opinion thats shes in Very Good Condition with Excellent Mechanics.
Shes clean and tidy and turns every head. Sure there are some signs of wear and tear - Come on, she's an old girl !!!!
She polish's up a real treat - sparkles in fact - but we keep her in a more "used" look - I think it suits her personalitiy better and gives her a better Old School Charm.
Theres loads of neat things on her - From The Eagle on the Master Cylinder to the Engraved Rocker Covers.
I'm Sure there is piles of stuff i've missed but I'll Shut up Now, and let the pictures do the talking.
Thanks For Looking...
Small Print.

Wow - Bit blown away by all the interest in Rubarb so soon.
To Answer some things -
1: Yes its Low .... 2: Yes the pipes are pretty loud (passed mot ok) 3: Its a KICK START !!!! 4: Rear Wheel is a 16
***** Although there is a pillion pad on the rear mudguard - there are NO footrest's and you would need to brace it to take the weight of a human, it serves its purpose by protecting the paint when you strap a few bits of shopping on the back !!!
On 21-Apr-08 at 16:41:17 BST, seller added the following information:Me again !!!!
Reg Plate is Three letters and Three Numbers, and is NOT transferable.
TOTALLY FORGOT !!!! There is a spare or different riders seat for those of you who are not fans of the sprung sparkle purple / pink pad .....
Its exactly the same style as the pillion pad, and follows the line of the frame and mudguard - so a sort of stretched V shape.... I will fit it this evening and photo it, and if you want a picture please send me your email address....
