A decent copy of this first edition with a good jacket. Includes a few b&w photos, The drama revolved round a little house in North London, known as 10 Rillington Place, on the top floor of which lived Timothy Evans, his wife Beryl and their baby. The only other residents were 50-year-old ex-War Reserve policeman, Reginald Christie and his wife. Evans was to be hanged following the deaths of his wife and baby. Some three years later Christie was in the dock following the discovery of his wife's body and those of five other women. He also admitted killing Mrs Evans, but denied murder of the baby.

280 pages. 21 x 14 cm. CONTENTS: Foreword, Introduction and short history of Evans & Christie; Reconstruction; Inspection of 10 Rillington Place; Coincidences; The Fatal Days, 7 Novembe - 15 December 1949; The Trial of Evans (Jan 1950); The Trial of Christie (June 1953); The Scott Henderson Report. Plus detailed appendixes.

Condition: Jacket has some wear and rubbing with the odd small tear, light age soiling and a few marks; not price clipped; no inscriptions, foxing to edge of pages, a little corner creasing to a few pages, fairly clean inside.
