Up for auction here is a rare drivers' instruction model by the German Hohm (Höhm) company. These models were made for use in military and civilian driving schools to assist in the technical development of new drivers. This particular model dates from the early 1950's and is loosely based on the Opel Kapitan car of the period. It is mounted on a wooden console that houses an electric motor, transformer and fuse boxes. When new, the models had functioning parking lights, high and low beam, brake lights, etc. On the mechanical side, the models feature working rocker arms, valves, pistons and crankshaft, working gearbox and differential (in cutaway) plus working brakes and handbrake, all of these driven by the motor in the base via a concealed drive-belt. The model still retains its original two pin plug but has not been used for many years and will require checking by a qualified electrician before any attempt is made to test the functions. Also the model does show its age and will require some restoration to return it to a usable state. Having said that, these are very rare and command quite high prices at specialist motoring auctions so please bid accordingly. I can be contacted on UK mobile number (+44) 07802 260 107 if you have any questions or would like any more information. Thank you for looking. PLEASE NOTE This item is for local pick up only due to its size and delicate parts. We are in London SW16 Tooting Bec Common area.
