1945 Ad GE Plastic BAKELITE CONTROL Panel Knobs SEARCH my eBay Store SEATTLE RETRO
ASBESTOS was one of the known fillers used in phenolite laminated plastics, giving them greater flame resistance, according to a 1950s book on "modern" plastics production (this ad doesn't mention it). This ad says these knobs were used on Railroad signal tower switchboards, submarine control boards, etc.
Vintage magazine ad approx 9 -1/2 X 12 inches. Ad LARGER & CLEARER than scan allows!
